April 1, 2008 Attachment Issues Krista Nelson
As Project Coordinator at Wilder Center for Children with Reactive Attachment Disorder, she specializes in working with survivors of trauma, children and families in the child protection system, youth in residential, foster and adoption placements who have histories of attachment disruptions. She enjoys offering training and consultation to parents and professionals working to enhance their children’s capacity to feel more safety, joy and accountability in key relationship and family life.
April 15, 2008 Sensory/Occupationa l Therapy Naomi Siegal
As an owner of Success in Motion, a clinic specializing in occupational therapy for children with sensory processing disorders, she helps children function to their highest potential in their everyday activities and environments. Along with her Bachelors and certification as a Massage Therapist, she has completed her training in Occupational Therapy at the College of St. Catherine. She has completed additional training courses in Sensory Integration, Sensory Defensiveness, The Ready Approach Therapy, Therapeutic Listening, Treatment of Visual Deficits and Myofascial Release.
April 29, 2008 Transracial Adoption Robert/Lenora O’Connor
Robert O’Connor is an expert in transracial adoption and multicultural familiar systems. He’s a master-level licensed therapist and has spoken both nationally and internationally for over 15 years on this topic. He researches transracial adoptions as assistant professor of social work at Metropolitan State University in St. Paul. Lenora O’Connor is an Independent Skin Care Consultant with Jafra Cosmetics International. Lenora will demonstrate techniques and share hair and skincare recommendations for children of color.
May 5, 2008 ADHD Dr. Michael Reiff
Dr. Reiff is editor-in-chief of the book ADHD, A Complete and Authoritative Guide, published by the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is a board certified Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician and Associate Professor Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Clinical Neuroscience. He has served on the faculty in the UCLA Pediatrics Department and as director of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at Mpls Children’s Hospital. He has been a member of the Pediatrics faculty of the UofM and been involved in the training program in Behavioral Pediatrics since that time. He joined the Division of Pediatric Clinical Neuroscience in April, 2003 and is the medical director of the Autistic Spectrum Disorder clinic.
